Gladiators ready! Social care staff ready! Become winter ready by getting vaccinated against flu and COVID

Our staff winter vaccination programme has begun and it has never been easier to get vaccinated!

Frontline social care workers are eligible for the free flu jab. The strains circulating change constantly and the vaccine offered this year will give you the best possible protection against catching and spreading the virus, helping you stay out of the Danger Zone.

There are a range of options available to you to help make flu vaccination as easy and straightforward as possible:-

Visit a local vaccination clinic You can book an appointment using the online portal or you can just drop-in (you may have to wait a short time to be seen meaning you might need to Hang Tough).

Healthcare and frontline social care workers can attend any of Fife’s public vaccination clinics. These are listed below:-

  • Lynebank Vaccination Centre - Dunfermline (open Monday to Friday)
  • Pitteuchar Health Centre - Glenrothes (open Monday to Friday)
  • Primrose Lane Medical Clinic - Rosyth (open Monday to Friday)
  • Randolph Wemyss Memorial Hospital - Buckhaven (open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday)
  • St Andrews Community Hospital (open Tuesday to Thursday)
  • Whyteman’s Brae Clinic - Kirkcaldy (open Monday to Thursday)

All clinics operate from 9am to 4pm (closing for lunch from 12.45 to 1.30pm)

Contact a participating community pharmacy – there are 50 community pharmacies across Fife offering free flu jabs to social care staff (again, you may have to wait to be seen although some allow you to book appointments through their website). To find your nearest participating pharmacy, visit: www.nhsfife.org/pharmacyflu

Mobile clinics – Why not visit one of our upcoming flu and Covid drop-in vaccination clinics?

  • Friday 15 November 2024 - Cowdenbeath Leisure Centre, KY4 9NN

Although flu is being prioritised, frontline social care staff are also eligible for vaccination against COVID-19. To arrange your COVID booster, visit one of our local vaccination clinics.

Don’t run the gauntlet! Help protect yourself against the worst effects of flu, and reduce the risk of catching and spreading the virus by getting vaccinated this winter.
