Knowing what to do for a friend in case of an emergency, acting fast and not being afraid to talk to healthcare professionals is vital.
In an emergency we want people to remember these four things:
- If you’re around someone who becomes unwell after taking drugs or alcohol, call 999 immediately.
- Getting help is essential – don’t delay because you are worried you’ll get into trouble.
- Be as honest as possible about what was taken, how much and when.
- Stay with the person who is unwell until help arrives from trained healthcare professionals.
Think – Talking, Harm, Informed, Notice, Know it all?
Think Again! is a call to action to ask everyone to play their part – from young people, their parents, carers to people who work with young people.
Think Again! wants to challenge and change perceptions around casual or occasional drug use.
Why Think Again!?
Drugs are always unpredictable. There’s always a risk in taking drugs – even ones someone has tried before.
Drugs that haven’t been prescribed and on the illegal drugs markets aren’t regulated – so we don’t know exactly what’s in them. And if you mix them with other things like alcohol, the risk goes up.
Don’t take a chance and Think Again!
Harm: Think casual or occasional drug use is risk free? Think Again!
Drugs are always unpredictable. It is essential young people, parents or carers are aware of the potential harm. Even casual or occasional drug use brings risks of harm that could affect you for life.
There are serious effects from using or experimenting with different types of drugs and there can be long-lasting consequences.
Don’t take the chance, Think Again!
