As part of Fife Health and Social Care Partnership’s vision to help people to be independent in their homes or homely setting, we want to enhance the services we provide by looking at digital options as a way to support people where possible – and we are currently looking at ways where this could support people receiving overnight support to help improve their independence in a safe and dignified way. We know that digital solutions (sometimes referred to as technology enabled care) will not support everyone due to the complexity of needs, however, where people can, we want to work with them, their families, carers, guardians, to consider different ways to be supported along with staff providing overnight support.

To understand more about the current overnight support service provided and what people think about digital solutions, and the opportunities and challenges this may bring, we will be connecting with those who use overnight support services that may benefit from sensor technology initially, and their families, carers, and guardians, along with staff providing overnight support. The more we know, the better informed we are at looking at different models of care that supports the outcomes of those we support and models that are sustainable now and in the future.
